KY-SCI has no issue with the changes outlined in KAR 1:152E. This was an emergency regulation change signed by the Governor. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) did not want to wait another day to enact this change. KAR 1:152E was replaced by KAR 1:152 after the LRC approved it.

This regulation changed the minimum gill and trammel net mesh size to 3 inches from 3.25 inches. This was done to improve the catch rate of juvenile Asian carp that were getting away because of the larger net mesh size. KY-SCI applauds all efforts to rid our waters of this invasive and destructive fish.
